CARLO POGGIOLI

Member of AMPAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) since 2013.
President-in-office of the ASC (Italian Association of Production Designers, Costume Designers and Set Decorators) since 2017.

Carlo Poggioli studied and graduated in production and costume design at the Istituto D'Arte and The Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples.
After completing his studies, Poggioli moved to Rome and began his vocational training at Sartoria Tirelli working as an assistant for some of the most important Italian costume designers such as Gabriella Pescucci, Piero Tosi, Maurizio Millenotti, for films such as: The Name of the Rose by Jean- Jacques Annaud, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen by Terry Gilliam, The Voice of the Moon by Federico Fellini, The Age of Innocence by Martin Scorsese (an Oscar in 1993 for Best Costumes), Sparrow by Franco Zeffirelli and many more. he year 2016 marks his second collaboration with director Paolo Sorrentino in the TV series The Young Pope with Jude Law, Diane Keaton and Silvio Orlando, produced by HBO and Sky Italia, (Luca Canfora co-designer) receiving a Silver Ribbon Award of Year 2017 and a Costume Designers Guild Awards nomination for Excellence in Contemporary Television in 2017.
