Masterclass Storyboarding: William Simpson

The lead storyboarding artist of Games of Thrones analyzes the importance of the storyboard artist in small and large productions.

William Simpson made his debut as a cartoonist in the historic 2000 AD magazine and since 2011, as lead storyboard artist for Game of Thrones, he has contributed to the design of the dragons, direwolves and three-eyed raven of the most famous fantasy series of all time. With his pencil he told the directors and the workers involved in the production, episode after episode, about the adventures of Winterfell and King's Landing. Making the energy of the images unleash from the drawing is what attracts him most to his work. A work made of moving images, the first essence of any film.
